An international company in the mobility sector delivering solutions for road safety, tolling, parking management, and fine collection. Operating across multiple regions, the organization supports large-scale, multi-country deployments and collaborates with distributed teams worldwide.

As the company prepared to expand into European markets, it faced a complex regulatory environment where legal, operational, and security requirements differ significantly from those in the United States.

Each country introduced its own compliance standards, particularly in areas such as data protection, traffic systems, and public infrastructure.

At the same time, the organization operated across multiple geographies, with teams distributed across the U.S., Canada, and several European countries. This added complexity to coordination, communication, and implementation of consistent compliance practices. Without a structured approach, the company risked delays in market entry, failed audits, and increased operational risk.

To support entry into the EU market, the organization needed to:

Based on this, a detailed roadmap was created to guide both technical adaptations and operational changes. The role of the compliance lead was critical in bridging communication between auditors, engineers, and business stakeholders, ensuring that all efforts remained aligned and focused.
